BIOGRAPHY:
My work history includes working for private companies, state government ,local government, hospitals, aged care, disability care and consulting for large retail and other government and private entities.
I have been responsible for developing and defining the IT landscape for private, government and not-for-profit companies. Throughout my career I have continually delivered on setting and executing Technology strategies, designed entire environments from Greenfields, designed and implemented infrastructures and entire Technology departments, redeveloped failing infrastructures and transformed unproductive technology teams, undertaken technology transformation and have participated in organisational digital transformations.
PETER’S WORK WITH TECH ADOPTION:
- Developed Technology Strategy, Operating Model and Roadmaps for multiple organisations.
- Renegotiated all network and fixed telephony contracts to achieve a 4x increase in speed, security and connectivity at a reduction in costs in excess of $200,000 over existing arrangements.
- Renegotiated mobile phone contracts for improved service and reduction in costs of $110,000+ per year.
- Several Service Desk ITIL based implementations
- ERP & CRM reviews and replacements
- Designed and led the build of a new state government department, 3 months from engagement to opening.
- Implemented first full virtual converged communications systems and call centre for Queensland State Government using Lync (now Teams) Exchange and IP telephony.
- Oversaw development, testing and implementation of world first aged care resident RFID tracking and nurse call integrated system.
- Aggressively grew IT department from in house only to providing managed IT services, Infrastructure went from 2 servers and 10 desktops to multi-million dollar datacentre with in excess of 60 virtualized servers and 400 seats, across several states and regional areas.
- Developed and delivered 2-day leadership training conference to more than 100 mid, senior and executive managers over 6 conferences.
AN INTERESTING FACT ABOUT PETER:
My wife and children live on a small farm and in my spare time raise dairy goats. I am also an apiarist (beekeeper).
